The Fall 2023 Creativate Retreat was AMAZING, as always!!
If you have never registered for the Creativate Retreats, you're missing out! They are so full of creative inspiration! The videos are all LIVE, so you can watch and comment along. Prizes are awarded to three lucky winners per live event! How cool is that? I guarantee that once you attend one Retreat, you can't wait for the next one!
The Creativate Team consists of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Sharon Armstrong, Jackie Bolhuis, Connie Stewart & Brandy Cox.
This is the first year that I completed all the Pre-Retreat Challenges AND all 8 Challenges as well! And it was so fun to be able to accomplish all the challenges! So, you will be seeing all my projects in the next week or so. I can't wait to share all the fun... and in no particular order.
My next project was created for Brandy's Project 2 - Paper Towel Background.
Have you ever created a card with paper towels as a background? It's super fun and easy to create a beautiful background.
I created my "Harvest of Blessings" card using the Stampin' Up! Rustic Crate & Pick of the Patch Stamp Sets, Rustic Crate Dies and of course, paper towels.
This being my first try with a paper towel background, I wasn't totally happy with the way this one turned out, but I went with it anyhow, because I do love the final results, regardless of the darker areas in the corners.
For my card base, I used Pecan Pie cardstock, followed by a layer of Basic White cardstock and then the paper towel layer.
The paper towel was adhered onto Basic White layer (the size you would like), trimmed and flipped over to adhere on the back with scotch tape.
Hold the paper towel in your hand (I used a glove on my left hand so I wouldn't be totally covered in ink). Using an ink pad of your choice, lightly brush the ink pad over the paper towel until you get the desired coverage.
The hardest part is setting it aside to dry completely!
The crate was die cut using Pecan Pie cardstock, assembled and brushed with Wink of Stella for a little sparkle on the box.
On the Basic White cardstock background, I partially embossed the upper portion using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
Linen Thread was used for the double bow and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot onto the crate.
The crate of flowers, pumpkins & corn were colored using Wild Wheat, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze inks.
For the embellishments, I used Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems and added three on each side of the crate, on the Basic White cardstock strip.
For the center focal point, I used several layers, starting with Basic White cardstock on the bottom, a Pecan Pie layer and lastly, Basic White cardstock.
The sentiment is from the Pick of the Patch Stamp Set, stamped with Pecan Pie ink on the portion that wasn't embossed.
On the envelope flap and on the front of the envelope I stamped the pumpkin/flowers image.
Inside my card is a Basic White cardstock layer. I stamped the image using Pecan Pie ink and the sentiment using Pumpkin Pie ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.
