Double Z Fun Fold & Texture Chic

Happy Memorial Day to all who celebrate in the US!

It's a quiet day for me in my craft room creating cards with all the fun stamps, paper and ink in my collection.  I have to admit, my collection is getting rather large and starting to overrun my craft space.  But, you know what?  I'm very content with that!  I love my craft stuff!

I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.  Leave a comment and tell me all about it!

Today's card is featuring the Double Z fun fold card using products from the Texture Chic Product Suite now available in the new Stampin' Up! catalog.

Everything coordinates so well from this suite... and actually all the suites coordinate well.  It makes it super easy to put a card together.

I started with the large card base in Petal Pink cardstock, measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4.

The smaller card base is also Petal Pink and measures 3 1/2 x 7 and scored at 1 3/8 & 3 1/2.
The Basic White measurements are: 3 3/8 x 3 3/8, 2 x 3 3/8 & 1 1/4 x 3 3/8.

Here is the card opened up.  You can see, it's really a super easy cart to put together.  I added stamping in the smaller flap and where the sentiment was stamped.
The DSP for the larger card base had three layers; 2 pieces cut at 2 x 5 3/8 and 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.

The flower images were stamped with Petal Pink ink on Basic White and the outlines of the flowers were die cut with DSP for the variegated fun look.

The sentiment is stamped using Soft Succulent ink.  Before adhering the two Basic White for the sentiment and the smaller piece, I put them together and stamped the images, so it would look like the flower was continuing onto the next piece.

The bottom portion of the card looked kind of plain, even with stamping along the bottom of Basic White, so I added the Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon.
I finished off the card by adding the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look around.

Best Wishes & Artistically Inked

Hello Saturday!  It's a beautiful day today, almost 80 and I am lovin' it!  It's a long weekend.  What are your plans?  Anything fun?  Or are you just chilling at home, happy to have an extra day off?

I decided to do a post today and break free from my regular posting on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Today's card features the Artistically Inked stamps and Artistic Dies.

I chose Petal Pink cardstock for my card base.  The DSP is from Design A Daydream (Host).  I'm loving the papers in this packet.
The first layer of DSP is 5 1/4 x 4 and another layer of different DSP measuring 5 x 3 3/4.

A single flower with leaves was stamped on the envelope flap.

No card is complete without embellishments!  Five were added on this card.  Petal pink ribbon was wrapped around the DSP and tied in a bow.  The sentiment was stamped using Old Olive in the lower right.

Two circles were die cut with Vellum using the Stylish Shapes Dies and layered under the large floral die cut.  You can see the vellum in this photo.

The die cut was cut on Basic White cardstock and lightly brushed with Old Olive, Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight inks, just to give it a touch of color and tone down the bright white a bit.

A flower image was stamped twice on the inside of the card.  The DSP measures the same as the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my card.
Happy Memorial weekend!

He's the Man Z-fold Card & Birthday Card with a Fun Technique

Happy Friday!

I've been a card-making fanatic and made quite a few cards... but I am only sharing TWO cards in this post for today.

My first project is a Z-fold card for Father's Day.  You guys, Father's Day is just around the corner and it will be here before we know it!  Hope my card inspires you to make a card or two.

What a fun Z-fold card!  Love the new He's the Man Suite from Stampin' Up!  Do you struggle with masculine cards?  I sure do!  I sit there with the papers in front of me wondering how to make a unique card or just a masculine card in general.

But I have to say, this one was a pretty simple process... and not too painful to create!  Haha!

I started with the card base using Sahara Sand measuring 11 x 4 1/4 and scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.  The black mat is 5 x 3 3/4.  I then cut two DSP at 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 and cut them both at a diagonal.

The All That dies from the Suite include some really fun stand alone dies to add cool elements on your card.  The two banners were tucked under the sentiment mat.

Here's a look from the top of the card.

I stamped the the photo corner in the upper left of the card.  The Rustic Metallic Dots really add that masculine touch.

This is the card opened up.  Even though the diagram I worked from didn't add DSP on the smaller middle portion, I felt like it really needed that.
The DSP that was cut diagonally are used on the inside of the card. to keep the theme going.  And I also stamped another photo corner in the lower right.
The inside card measurements for the black mat is 5 x 3 3/4 and the DSP measures 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 (the same as the front of the card).

Linen thread was wrapped in a circle several times and tucked under the sentiment.
The black mat behind the sentiment was cut in half then added on each end of the Sahara Sand, which kind of gives it a shadow effect.

I hope you enjoyed Card #1!

For my second card I did a super fun technique using Stampin' Blends, Vellum Cardstock and Rubbing Alcohol.  I recently watched a YouTube video from Christine Josti at Mail Something Pretty and couldn't wait to give it a try!  I hope you will hop on over to her YouTube channel and watch her fun techniques.

Isn't the background cool?  I already know I will be making more of these backgrounds!

I started with Basic White cardstock measuring 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2.
Poppy Parade cardstock was used for the frame from the Fabulous Frames Dies and the vellum was cut just slightly smaller and adhered to the frame with Tear n Tape Adhesive.

A closer look at the flowers stamped once, twice and a third time to get the different variations.  This stamp is from the Uniquely Artistic stamp set.

The greeting is from the Go To Greetings stamp set and stamped using Poppy Parade ink.  These stamps are so beautiful and in varying sizes.  Very versatile.

You also get a closer look at the background that I created using the five different Stampin' Blends and only the Dark colors (Poppy Parade, Old Olive, So Saffron and I believe it was Pink Pirouette).  I tried several different Blends before I came up with something I really liked.  It was just fun playing around with all the colors and watching how they "blend" together.

Be sure to adhere the vellum really well with painter's tape on a piece of thick cardboard because the vellum will tend to curl.  You can also speed up the drying process by using your heat tool.  Once the vellum is secure, then start coloring your Blends however you like and in any pattern.  It's best if you color in all of the blank spots... by coloring close to the other color because they do tend to bleed into each other.  Once your vellum is completely colored, then use a dropper or paint brush and drip rubbing alcohol onto the vellum and watch the colors blend together in various patterns, leaving sometimes dark lines and lighter colors blending sort of like a shaded color combo.  Add more rubbing alcohol if you'd like until you get the desired effect you're looking for.
And keep playing around with different combos of your Blends to see what you come up with.

And don't forget to check out Christine Josti's YouTube channel Mail Something Pretty.  Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz0oOeXcruU
Here's Christine's FB page link: https://www.facebook.com/mailsomethingpretty

The gold elements are from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and the cute little gold flowers are Flowers Trinkets and really added an elegant touch to the card.

For the inside of the card I wanted to continue the same theme as the front and die cut another frame.  The flower images were stamped on Basic White before adhering to the frame.

So pretty!!

More Fun with the New In Colors & Sit, Stay, Relax Stamps

 Hello and happy Wednesday!

The new In Colors are so fun!  I knew I wanted to create something using these awesome colors but struggled to come up with something different.

This is what I finally came up with.  Once I decided how the card layout was going to be, the rest came together rather quickly.  Very fun cards using the Sit, Stay, Relax stamp set.

Each card base features the new In Colors and measures 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2.  The lattice background is from the Organic Beauty Dies.  The lattice looked too plain for me, so I added several of the diamond shapes back onto the card randomly for more interest.  The white background cardstock is embossed using the Pretty Flowers folder.

You can see the embossing behind the lattice.  I also used the Rectangle Stitched Dies which goes behind the chair and adhered with dimensionals.  No dies come with this stamp set so each chair was fussy cut, which was pretty simple cutting.

Metallic Woven Ribbon is wrapped around the cardstock on the left and tied in a knot.

A strip of the Glimmer Paper was added on the inside of the card.

I didn't add the envelopes, but each flap was decorated using the In Colors DSP.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and they have inspired you in some way.
