It's Friday!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous start to the weekend. It's going to be beautiful weather all weekend in Central North Carolina! Yay!
The card project I created for today is an angled tri-fold with belly band card (that's a mouthful) which features the Elephant Parade stamps and dies and the Hues of Happiness DSP. This is my spin on a fun tri-fold card.
Because I added the sentiment with dimensionals on the top portion of the card, the belly band has to slide downward off the card, which really shouldn't be a problem.
I started off with the card base in Fresh Freesia cardstock measuring 5 1/2 x 11, scored at 3 3/8 & 7 5/8.
For the angles at the top of this fun fold, measure 1 1/2 in. from the score line with a pencil and cut at a diagonal from the score line to your pencil mark. Repeat on the other side.
The belly band measurements are 1 x 9 1/2. I folded it around the card very loosely so it would slide off easily. Simply wrap the cardstock around the card and adhere. Then have fun adding your die cuts and embellishments. Using the Scalloped Contours Dies I created the base to adhere to the belly band. Then, after doing lots of die cutting, added the different elements until I achieved what looked best to me. The elephant and balloons were adhered with dimensionals and of course, Pastel Pearls were added to finish off the belly band.
The cute little elephants and mouse were colored using the following Stampin' Blends: Smoky Slate Lt & Dk, Granny Apple Green Lt, Daffodil Delight Lt, Gray Granite Lt & Dk, Fresh Freesia Lt, Pink Pirouette Lt & Petal Pink Lt.
The card didn't look right unless I added "something" on this flap, so I added grass and another one of the cute elephants holding balloons. He was also adhered with dimensionals.
Here's the card opened up. No card is complete without adding a few die cuts on the inside of the card. I added the green ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack (I believe it's Granny Apple Green), a tiny butterfly at the top of the card (so it can be seen when the tri-fold is closed) and a cute little mouse with grass behind him.
I hope you enjoyed my card and will give this angled tri-fold card a try.
