Corner Fun Fold Birthday Card

 Stamp Happy Academy is a membership site offering lots of inspiration and fun challenges.

The challenge for February is to CREATE A CARD WITH HEARTS.

I made a Corner Fun Fold Birthday card using the Stampin' Up! Friendly Gnomes Stamps & Dies, Share A Milkshake Dies and Dandy Designs DSP.

The fun fold portion is DSP, which is a great way to showcase both sides of these pretty patterns!

The layers of cardstock are Balmy Blue, next Night of Navy and finally Basic White.

To prep the Basic White, using my Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink, lightly brushed color around the edges.  Next, using one of the stencils from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and Night of Navy ink, lightly and randomly stenciled on the white.

The mushroom home was stamped directly onto the white cardstock.  The gnome and bird were also stamped using Memento ink, fussy cut and colored using Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sorbet, Gray Granite and #600 Stampin' Blends Markers. They were adhered with dimensionals.

The hearts were die cut from the Share a Milkshake Dies.

Linen Thread was colored using Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blends, wrapped around the white cardstock and tied in a bow.  The sentiment was stamped using Night of Navy ink.

This is the fun fold opened up.  I really nice surprise for whoever opens it up!

Inside on the upper flap, is Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Basic White cardstock.

The Basic White cardstock was prepped the same as on the front of the card.

The gnome was colored using Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Sweet Sorbet Stampin' Blends.

The balloons were colored Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green Blends.  The blue balloon was adhered with a single dimensional.  The grass was stamped using Granny Apple Green along the bottom.  Additional grass die cuts were added using Granny Apple Green cardstock and tucked behind the gnome.

The squirrel was colored with Gray Granite, fussy cut and adhered with a dimensional.

The sentiment was stamped using Night of Navy ink.

Additional die cut hearts (Sweet Sorbet cardstock) were added around the sentiment.

Inside the card, on the right, is Balmy Blue, Night of Navy & Basic White cardstock.

An additional grass die cut was added in the lower left.  

The bird was also colored and fussy cut and tucked slightly behind the grass.

The balloon was colored with Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends, fussy cut and adhered with liquid adhesive.

A Sweet Sorbet heart die cut was also added.

Balmy Blue Cardstock - Cut 2 - 4 1/2 x 3 1/4

Night of Navy Cardstock - Cut 2 - 4 1/4 x 3

Inside Card:

DSP for envelope flap - 6 x 2 1/2

To create the fun fold:

Score DSP at 2 3/4 from the top and 2 3/4 from the left.

Make a small mark with a pencil at 5 1/2 along the top and 5 1/2 along the left side.  Then score diagonally across the DSP where your two pencil marks are.

Fold on score lines, bringing the diagonal score line inward.
