CREATIVATE Summer 2023 Pre-Retreat Challenge #2.
Today I'm sharing a card made for the CREATIVATE RETREAT that will be held on July 21 & 22, 2023. This retreat is only available to people who have registered for the Creativate Summer 2023 Retreat.

There is also a private group on Facebook where you can play along with the Pre-Retreat challenges and upload your creations for everyone in the group to see. This is a fun way to jumpstart your creativity. Plus, you will get to see all the creations from everyone else! How cool is that! So much inspiration!
This is such a fun retreat held every 3 months with so many creative ideas and tips & tricks as well as available PDFs with full instructions and photos to continue making project using various stamps, inks and paper.
I'm pretty sure this is my 8th retreat and I look forward to each one!

For my "Brightest Birthday" card, I used the Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies Bundle, Charming Sentiments and Fresh as a Daisy DSP. Plus, a fun technique I think you are going to love!

For my card base, I used Lemon Lolly cardstock.

For this Letter Press Technique, you will need an Embossing Mat. I happened to have one from previous embossing machines that I used to have. I have no idea why I kept this mat and it didn't end up in storage or how it ended up where I could actually find it, but I'm sure glad I did! Pretty sure this is a technique I will use often! You can purchase one at Amazon for a reasonable price.
To begin, you will need cardstock (just a little larger than the size you will need), blending brushes, ink(s) and a stencil.
Adhere the stencil (I used a stencil from the Foursquare Decorative Masks) and the cardstock at the top with post it tape or temporary tape.
Next, layer the Stampin' Cut & Emboss plates as listed below to create your "sandwich."
Begin with Base Plate #1 at the bottom and start layering.
Then, Clear Plate #3.
Then lay down your Embossing Mat.
Next, layer your cardstock & stencil (which are adhered together), with the cardstock on the bottom and the stencil on top.
Finally, top with the Gray Plate #4.
Run through your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and you will get the embossed image from the stencil.
Keeping the cardstock & stencil together, now you can begin adding the ink color(s) that you would like. You can add the ink darker or lighter, depending on the effect you would like. You can lift up the stencil a little to see if the color is like you want it.
When you have the desired color, lift the stencil off the cardstock and you have a super cool design that will surely "wow" your card!
I wasn't sure if I wanted a super dark background or a lighter background, so I think I accomplished something in between.
I absolutely love how this turned out and I can't wait to try it using different stencils and inks.
The flowers were die cut with Basic White cardstock and using Blending Brushes, added some color to the flower centers, petals and leaves.
For my background, I used Copper Clay ink.

This is the card fully opened up. I love the added DSP on the left panel.

For the right panel, I added Basic White cardstock. A daisy was stamped in two of the corners using Pretty Peacock ink. The sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set, stamped using Copper Clay ink.
A strip of DSP was also added on the far right panel, which actually shows as the front of the card when it's all folded up.
For the front of the card, two strips of DSP were added on the smaller panels.
The sentiment was stamped using Copper Clay ink and the flowers using Pretty Peacock ink.
I mat the Basic White onto Lemon Lolly cardstock. From the Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack, I used Lemon Lolly Ribbon to wrap around the left side and tie in a bow. This was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.
Embellishments used are Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems.

On the envelope, I stamped the daisy image on the front and on the flap.
