Winter Greetings with St. Nick

Optional Theme: Trees

For my "Winter Greetings" card, I used the Stampin' Up! Horse & Sleigh & Sparkling Snowflakes Stamp Sets, Deckled Circles Dies, Traditions of St. Nick DSP and Christmas Tidings & Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folders.

For my card base, I used Real Red cardstock then two layers of coordinating DSP from the Traditions of St. Nick paper pack.

Santa and the trees were fussy cut from the DSP. The Santa was adhered with dimenisonals.

Wink of Stella was brushed on the trees and then splattered over the entire card front for some extra sparkle.

Color was added on the Basic White cardstock behind Santa, by using a blending brush and Mossy Meadow ink. I also added the same color on the sentiment.

For the embellishments, I added Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels.

I took a photo of the card in the sun to hopefully get the sparkle on the trees.

The top layer of DSP on the card front was embossed using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder.

The two circles were die cut using Deckled Circles Dies. The Real Red circle was embossed using the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder. To enhance the raised embossing, I lightly brushed the White Ink pad over the embossed areas.

White Iridescent Ribbon was adhered with Mini Glue Dots just below Santa.

The sentiment is from the Sparkling Snowflakes Stamp Set, stamped using Real Red ink. Since I am not that great at trimming around a sentiment, I had to come up with another idea.

After stamping the image, I cleaned it off and pulled it off the clear block. I lay the stamp over the stamped image, making sure all was matched, then used a pencil to lightly trace around the photopolymer stamp. Lift the stamp off and fussy cut, following the pencil lines and erase any visible lines.

DSP was also added on the envelope flap.

Inside my card is Basic White cardstock with a 1/2" strip of DSP along the right. An additional tree was fussy cut from the DSP and adhered to the right of the sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Horse & Sleigh Stamp Set, stamped using Real Red ink.
