Libby's Craft Studio: Two-Tone Flora Note of Thanks & Technique

The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge #651.

I chose the top row - Embossing, Green, Flowers.

To create my "Note of Thanks" card, I used the Stampin' Up! Two-Tone Flora Bundle, Sending Smiles Stamp Set, Masterfully Made DSP and used a new and fun technique.

For my card base I used Basic White cardstock followed by a layer of Night of Navy cardstock and finally the Masterfully Made DSP.

For my fun technique that I'm pretty sure is called, "EMBOSSING ON A WINDOW SHEET."

Simply stamp your image on a window sheet using Whisper White Craft Ink Pad. Then using White Embossing Powder, cover all the stamped images and heat set using your Heat Tool.

I tried using the window sheets that come with your photopolymer stamps, but that was a disaster! The embossing powder sticks to all the outlined stamp images. So I tried again by cleaning off the window sheet using the embossing buddy, with the same "icky" results.

The only thing I didn't try is using a window cleaner to clean the window sheet and then try stamping and heating. I will be giving this a try too!

I found out what really works best. Purchasing the Window Sheets from Stampin' Up!!!

Nice, clean sheets, with no fussing!

To use the embossed window sheet, turn it over so the smooth side is facing up. This protects the embossed images, because they can scratch off.

To adhere to the DSP or cardstock, just dab tiny spots of liquid adhesive onto the embossing, wait awhile, so the glue becomes tacky and then adhere.

I tried cardstock behind the embossed window sheet, but it really showed all the imperfect "dots" from the embossing powder, which I think you will get, no matter what. If you give it a try and get the background clearer, please let me know how you did it.

Anyhow, it worked wonderfully behind DSP, adding a little more texture and uniqueness and those tiny "dots" didn't show quite so much.

The flowers and leaves were stamped using Night of Navy, Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight inks.

The images were die cut and adhered onto the window sheet. The larger flower was adhered with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set, inked with Night of Navy and die cut from the Sending Dies and adhered in the upper corner with Mini Dimensionals. An additional die cut leaf was tucked under the sentiment.

The Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels gave a little sparkle for the finishing touches on my card.

This photo shows the embossing behind the window sheet a little better.

Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon was wrapped around the bottom portion of the card and using a smaller piece, wrapped around and tied in a knot.

DSP was also added on the envelope flap.

Inside my card is a layer of Night of Navy cardstock and Basic White cardstock.

I stamped the larger flower with Night of Navy ink and the leaves using Old Olive ink.
