Sweetest Birthday Card

Global Design Project Theme Challenge #399. 

For my "Sweet Birthday Card," I used the Stampin' Up! Sweetest Cherries, Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set, Stylish Shapes Dies and Cherry Builder Punch.

The inspiration for my card came from the 2023-2024 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog (Pg. 20).  I thought this care was so cute and wanted to re-create it with my own version.

I began with my card base in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock with the next layer Basic White cardstock which was adhered with dimensionals.

To create my multi-colored sentiment, I used sponge daubers and dabbed Lemon Lime Twist and Copper Clay inks directly onto the stamp, fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.

To achieve the even border around the sentiment (which I could never achieve by fussy cutting free hand), I cleaned the stamp and took it off the clear block.  I lay it down onto stamped image so they were matched evenly.  Next, using a pencil, traced lightly around the stamp and finally, fussy cut, following the pencil marks and erased any marks that were showing.

The secondary sentiment was stamped using Sweet Sorbet ink and die cut using Stylish Shapes Dies.

Finally, for the finishing touches on my card, I added the 20222-2024 In Color Pearls (Sweet Sorbet).

On the White background cardstock, I added a little interest with the Foursquare Decorative Masks (which I like to simply call "stencils," a Blending Brush and Lemon Lime Twist ink.  I didn't want the whole background stenciled, so I randomly added color to there are darker and lighter shades throughout the background.

The cherries were stamped using Sweet Sorbet ink and die cut using the Cherry Builder Punch. 

I didn't like the white border around the cherries, so I shaded this all in using a Blending Brush and Sweet Sorbet ink.

The leaves were punched out from Granny Apple Green cardstock.  I stamped the leaf veins using the same color ink.  The leaves were bent in the middle to add a little dimension and tucked behind the cherries or on the stems.

The stems were also punched out using Pecan Pie cardstock and adhered behind the cherries.

I created the same effect on the envelope flap with the stencil, blending brush and Lemon Lime Twist ink.

Inside my card is a layer of Basic White cardstock.  I lightly added more stenciling with a little darker ink on two of the corners.

An additional cherry die cut was added on the lower corner.  The sentiment is from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set, inked with Sweet Sorbet ink.
