One Layer Daisy Birthday Card

The Paper Players Clean & Simple Challenge #645.

For my "Birthday" card, I used the Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies Bundle, Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set & Stylish Shapes Dies.

A card with NO layers?

I love creating cards with lots of layers, so this was definitely a challenge for me, and I think I did pretty good!

To create the circle, I used the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies and die cut it using printer paper.  Then I adhered the negative printer paper over the cardstock where I wanted the circle and adhered with sticky note tape.

Using a Blending Brush and Moody Mauve ink, I started along the edge adding the ink darker and gradually adding lighter ink towards the center.

I love how the dots around the circle even showed through onto the cardstock!  Pretty cool!

The daisy was stamped using Berry Burst ink and the leaves using Granny Apple Green.

I wanted small portions of the flower and stamp overlapping the circle.

The sentiment was stamped using Memento ink.

And, finally, the embellishments are Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio, added as a finishing touch for my one-layer card.

I stamped a smaller daisy image on the envelope flap and on the front of the envelope in the lower left corner.

Inside my card is... yes... a layer!!  I just couldn't do it!  But... for this challenge, we're only looking at the card front, right?  

I stamped the daisy using Berry Burst ink and the leaves using Granny Apple Green ink.

The sentiment is from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set, stamped using Memento ink and adhered the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White cardstock inside the card.
