Stampin' Up! Framed Florets Friend Card

 Sketch Saturday Challenge #716.

For this sketch I chose the Stampin' Up! Framed Florets stamp set & dies along with Delicate Desert DSP (all available Jan. 5, 2023).

The card base is Basic White cardstock with two layers of Delicate Desert DSP.  The darker shade behind the die cut DSP.

The DSP was die cut using the Stampin' Up! Dots & Spots die and adhered onto the cardstock.

The oval was die cut using the Fabulous Frames Dies.  The sentiment was stamped using Cajun Craze ink.

I really liked the shape of the photopolymer stamp and decided to try something (new to me) to get the same shape around the sentiment.

Below is a series of photos showing how I created this.

The shape of this photopolymer stamp is cool, so after stamping the image and cleaning the stamp, I took the stamp off the block and lay it over the stamped image.  You can do this with photopolymer or cling stamps.

Next, I traced around the stamp, keeping my finger on it as I traced it.  My pencil did stick to the sides of the stamp which led to unattractive pencil lines.

Here's the rough-looking tracing.  But don't pay too much attention to that.  This gives you a general line to follow.  After fussy cutting, simply erase any pencil lines.

The result is you now have the same shape as the stamp, which I thought was super cool!  

I know that if I traced it free-hand, it wouldn't look quite as good as this.

Behind the images, the DSP strip was matted onto Basic White cardstock.  The ovals were then adhered over it.   

The flower image was die cut from Fitting Florets DSP.  The leaf was die cut from Soft Succulent cardstock and placed behind the flower.  The twine is from the Three Twine Combo Pack (available Jan. 5, 2023).  I looped it behind the flower, added dimensionals and adhered on the card.

Pastel Sequins (also available Jan. 5, 2023) were added as a finishing touch on the card.

The sentiment was also adhered with dimensionals.

Don't forget to decorate your envelope!  I added DSP to the envelope flap.

Inside my card is DSP layered with Basic White.  The leaf images were stamped using Soft Succulent ink.
