Christmas cards in September is a real struggle because it's so warm and sunny here. It's hard to think of Christmas when I'm still enjoying the summer/fall season. But... I know the Christmas season will be here before we know it and I try to get my cards made before then. With all the pretty products from Stampin' Up!, making cards are an anticipated excitement!
This card was created for a card swap that I recently participated in.
I used Stampin' Up! Reindeer Fun Bundle, Sentimental Wishes Stamp Set, Nests of Winder & Reindeer Days DSP along with Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder.
My card base is Coastal Cabana with the next layers Shaded Spruce and DSP.
On the background DSP, the snowflakes were stamped with Coastal Cabana ink. Shading was added around the edges of the DSP with Coastal Cabana ink.
The trees were fussy cut from DSP. Wink of Stella was splattered on the background as well. Color was added around the trees with Old Olive ink. The deer were die cut using dies from Reindeer Fun, which was super cool.
Basic White was torn into two strips and embossed using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. A light shade of color was added with a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink. The strips were overlapped and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the bottom with a single Stampin' Dimensional on the far right of the top strip (so the deer's feet could tuck behind it).
To create the shade under the tree, I used Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends Marker.
Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments add a little sparkle.
A strip of Shaded Spruce Satin & Sheer Ribbon was adhered under the sentiment.
The sentiment is from Sentimental Wishes Stamp Set, stamped with Shaded Spruce ink. Color was lightly added around the edges of the sentiment with Coastal Cabana ink and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The deer and largest tree were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Inside my card is a layer of Shaded Spruce and Basic White. The sentiment and tree were stamped with Shaded Spruce ink. Color was added over the tree with Coastal Cabana ink and around the edges of the Basic White.
