Global Design Project "Case the Designer" Challenge #440.
To CASE means - Copy and Selectively Edit
When you CASE a project, you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set, the colors, the layout, the theme, the images, whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.
It's fun to make slimline cards. The only challenge is that you have to create your own envelopes!
For my "Best Birthday Wishes" slimline card, I used Stampin' Up! Stippled Roses & Hooray for Surprises Stamp Sets, Stippled Roses Dies, Gilded Leafing, Water Painters & Blending Brushes.
Basic White was used for my card base as well as for the layers.
The beautiful floral image was stamped with Berry Burst ink, stamped off once to create a lighter image.
The leaves were die cut with Basic White and tucked behind the flowers with Mini Glue Dots.
The sentiment was stamped with Berry Burst ink, trimmed and cut at an angle on the left.
I'm just starting to use the Gilded Leafing and I'm sad this is retiring. It's definitely staying in my collection!
Shading was added around the edges of the cardstock layer with a Blending Brush and Petal Pink ink.
I added some Multipurpose Liquid Glue on a Silicone Craft Mat and used a Water Painter to add glue on the cardstock. I also used my finger to smoosh the glue randomly on the cardstock. To get the glue tacky, I heat it up with my Heat Tool. Then I added the Gilded Leafing and use a sponge to brush off the excess. Love this!!
The envelope was created by using a template from an envelope, now retired, from Stampin' Up! I carefully pulled the envelope apart and traced it onto cardstock to use as a template.
I used Delightful Floral DSP to create the envelope.
Inside my card shading was also added around the edges.
The leaf was stamped with Lost Lagoon ink... stamped off once onto scrap paper and then on the cardstock for a lighter image.
The sentiment is from Hooray for Surprises Stamp Set, stamped with Berry Burst ink.
