Splitcoast Stampers Mixed Media Birthday Card

I had fun getting messy for this next challenge, which was created, as a member of the Design Team, at Splitcoast Stampers.

On May 5th, the Dirty Dozen Team (I'm included) will have a challenge to CASE any of the last 100 Featured Stampers.

An interesting note:  One of my projects was chosen as a Featured Stamper within the last 100, which is super cool!

But, I didn't really want to CASE one of my own cards, which would be fun, but I found another that really caught my eye.

This card is from Cristena (3/24/2024) - FS894.

The background is what really drew me to this card, along with the banners (even though I didn't use them on my card), layers and the circle.

Here's the "Birthday" card I created using Cristena's card as a starting point.
I used Stampin' Up! Encircled in Nature Bundle, Happy Little Things & Country Birdhouse Stamp Sets, Stylish Shapes Dies, Foursquare Decorative Masks, Ink Refills, Shimmery White Embossing Paste & Silicone Mat.

Basic White was used as my card base with layers of Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather.

On the Basic White layer I used Shimmery White Embossing Paste with the Foursquare Decorative Masks.
First I adhered the Basic White onto scrap paper with Post It Tape, put the mask/stencil over the cardstock and adhered that in place with the same tape.
Using the Palette Knives, I added two blobs of  Shimmer Paste onto my Silicone Mat and created a little indent in the center to add the Fresh Freesia & Highland Heather Ink Refills - about 2-3 drops each.
Next, I mixed each one good and spread it over the mask/stencil in an even layer, starting with one color and adding it randomly, then adding the second color and used the rest of the paste to smooth out and blend it in a little where the two colors meet.
More can be added as needed.

Once finished, gently pull up the mask/stencil and clean it with warm, soapy water or a Baby Wipe.  Be sure to clean your palette knives as well and your Silicone Mat.

Let it dry overnight.  Once it's completely dry, you can trim it down to the size you need.  I ended up with a strip left over, which fit perfectly on the inside of my card.

The circle was die cut with Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered on the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  This is a little tricky to stick to the Paste, so you will need a good amount of glue and hold it in place for a bit, until it adheres.

The flowers were stamped with Memento ink and colored with Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Lemon Lolly & Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers and die cut.

Two of the leaves were die cut with Granny Apple Green and two with Gorgeous Grape.  The ends were too long, so they were snipped.  I adhered these directly on the circle die cut.
Linen Thread was doubled up and looped into a bow and adhered behind the flowers, then adhered onto the circle with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink, trimmed and flagged on each end.  A scrap piece of Gorgeous Grape was adhered behind the sentiment before adhering onto the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the embellishments, I used Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls.

On the envelope flap I used the mask/stencil with Blending Brushes and Fresh Freesia & Highland Heather inks.

Inside my card I got a little fancy!  I stamped the "Wishing" (from Happy Little Things Stamp Set) with Highland Heather ink.  The "You" (also from the same stamp set) was stamped with Memento ink and colored with Fresh Freesia & Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Markers.
The rest of the sentiment was stamped with Fresh Freesia ink.

And, finally, I added the left over strip along the bottom.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.
